Coffee Dragon

I’m like a dragon, sitting on a hoard of treasure that’s useless to me, unwilling to use or part with any of it and somehow still hungry for more.

Michelle: I thought it was normal!

I reject the idea of bleakness after a mountaintop, the idea that the only way forward is down.

Unsurprisingly, this led to an incredibly awkward five-minute conversation.

If I begin practicing grannyhood now, by the time I’m a granny I’ll have sixty years of experience at it, so I’ll be a really good one.

Did she just say she wants to be felt up when she’s drunk at the club?

If I say I’m bored and/or looking to make new friends, someone’s gotta come up with, “Just join a run club.”

I miss when attention to the world around us, and wonder over the beauty of the earth, was our assignment.

I promise to keep trying to leave room on the walls and shelves for new things, even if that means taking some old things down.
