I don’t know if this is an error per se, but it’s certainly a sin of omission.

Böll wrote prolifically about his city. I thought to turn to him for two thoughts about Cologne and what makes it distinct.

In the many centuries of death and love and loss since this story was first told, when would we not return to this story?

If we can all connect with the same music, our souls must be similar in some way.

I don’t use Instagram or Snapchat, I don’t work sixty-hour weeks, I don’t watch Game of Thrones.

You can’t care that deeply for every suffering thing,
Even I know this much.

These forty-nine deaths I have not died.

These live-action remakes might not always succeed in being great stand-alone movies, but maybe that’s not a fair standard to hold them to.
